This scholarship is made possible by the Titan Shops Textbook Requisition Reward Program to provide financial support to continuing CSUF History students. The purpose of this award is to assist students with costs associated with their academic and professional development, such as purchasing books, attending conferences, or preparing for further studies.
Eligibility:
Open to continuing undergraduate and graduate History students at CSUF who meet the following criteria:
- Declared History major.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- For graduate students: Completion of at least 6 units of graduate History coursework at CSUF.
- Demonstrated interest in History.

Adopt-a-Titan Scholarship

This scholarship was originally established by the Richard Bergstrom on behalf of the Bergstrom Family to provide financial assistance, based on financial need, to incoming CSUF undergraduate students. Additional donors have joined the Bergstrom family to provide funding for new scholarships. This scholarship is also awarded on behalf of the Nguyen family. The purpose of the scholarship is to support achievement among students with financial need. The scholarships are intended to minimize students’ debt burden.

Established by: This program was established by the Cal State Fullerton Alumni Association. Scholarship funds are raised through Alumni Association membership dues, generous support of CSUF alumni, and proceeds raised at alumni programs and events. Money must be used for the upcoming academic year and funds may not be transferred to another school or program. This scholarship was established in memory of Chris Dufresne, sports journalist, 1981 College of Communications alumnus, and Department of Communications Wall of Fame honoree. A recognized and respected Los Angeles Times sportswriter for 35 years, he was their national college football and basketball columnist from 1995 to 2015. He also covered pro football, Olympic skiing, golf, etc., won multiple awards and was named the 2011 California Sportswriter of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (now NSMA). Chris continued to give back to his alma mater throughout his career by mentoring students who shared his passion for sports and its connection to the human condition.

CSU Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Achievement
The CSU Trustees’ Awards recognize students who have overcome adversity, demonstrated financial need, and have attributes of merit, including superior academic performance, significant personal achievements, and exemplary community service.
The William Randolph Hearst Foundation established an endowed scholarship fund in 1984 to honor William Randolph Hearst, founder of the Hearst newspaper chain. In 1999, the William Randolph Hearst Foundation partnered with the CSU Board of Trustees to create the CSU Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Achievement. Contributions from CSU Trustees and private donors increase the value and number of available awards. Special named scholarships are awarded by the selection committee based on criteria such as studying in the STEM or education fields, veterans, and exemplary community service.
The recipient who receives the highest score by the CSU Foundation scholarship selection committee is designated the Trustee Emeritus Ali C. Razi Scholar and will receive a $18,000 scholarship. Also distributed will be:

Dale M. Schoettler Scholarship for Visually Impaired Students

46 scholarships of $10,000 each will be awarded for the 2024-2025 academic year.

The Dale M. Schoettler Scholarship for Visually Impaired Students was established in 1991 by Mr. Schoettler, a successful businessman from Mountain View, California, who was blind for the last eight years of his life. His generosity has provided financial assistance to CSU students with visual impairments, helping them pursue their academic goals.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale and must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.8 during the academic year in which the award is received.
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in 6.1 units or more as a CSU undergraduate or graduate student in any major field and must remain enrolled in 6.1 units or more during the academic year in which the award is received.
- Applicants must have a visual disability.*
A visual disability is defined by the CSU as blindness or partial sight to the degree that it impedes the educational process and may necessitate accommodations, support services, or programs. Department of Geological Sciences Faculty - Coppel Graduate Science Award

This scholarship was established by Lynn and Claude Coppel in fall 1995. Prior to her retirement in 1992, Mrs. Coppel worked for 24 years as the science reference librarian at CSUF. Her husband, Claude, was a research supervisor with Chevron Oil Field Research in the production department, where he served for 27 years prior to his retirement in 1992. Chevron Oil Field Research is a matching donor for this scholarship, furthering its impact on supporting graduate students in the Geological Sciences Department at California State University, Fullerton.

Dr. and Mrs. Donald B. Bright Environmental Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 1994 in memory of the late Dr. Donald B. Bright, a former faculty member and Chair of the Department of Biological Science. Dr. Bright dedicated his career to solving environmental challenges through his consulting firm, assisting both the private and public sectors with biological studies, habitat restoration, hazardous waste management, air quality issues, and land use planning. While serving as President and CEO of his company, he remained deeply connected to CSUF and the Fullerton Arboretum, contributing his time and resources to support education and environmental research. His passion for teaching and belief in the power of education continue to inspire this scholarship.

Dr. and Mrs. Marvin J. Rosenberg Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Dr. Marvin J. Rosenberg in cherished memory of his wife, Shayna I. Rosenberg, and to commemorate his 35 years at CSUF as a faculty member and chair of the Department of Biological Science, as well as Associate Dean and Acting Dean of the College of Natural Sciences & Mathematics. The scholarship aims to support students who are dedicated to advancing the fields of cellular and molecular biology.

- continuing junior or senior undergraduate students with at least one year remaining before graduation
- Enrolled in the Cellular & Developmental Biology Concentration or Molecular Biology & Biotechnology Concentration.

This scholarship was established and funded by Dr. Austin Nation (BSN – 2009; MSN, Leadership – 2011), an esteemed alumnus of California State University, Fullerton. Dr. Nation founded the Nursing Student Association (NSA) in 2007 and is dedicated to supporting students within the CSUF School of Nursing who demonstrate leadership and engagement in diverse communities. This scholarship aims to encourage and recognize students committed to fostering inclusivity, cultural awareness, and leadership within the nursing profession.
Eligibility:
Open to undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in the CSUF School of Nursing who meet the following criteria:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing.
- Enrolled full-time (12 units for undergraduates, 9 units for graduates).
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 and in good academic standing.
- Demonstrated commitment to completing their degree.
- Active involvement in campus or community initiatives that support diverse communities, including but not limited to race, culture, gender, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
- Participation in the Nursing Students Association (NSA) is encouraged but not required.

Dr. B.J. Snell Legacy in Midwifery Excellence Endowed Award
Established by: This award was established by the faculty, family, and friends of Dr. Betty Johnson (B.J.) Snell, Professor Emeritus in the School of Nursing at California State University, Fullerton. Dr. Snell was a visionary educator, compassionate midwife, and tireless advocate for equitable healthcare. She led the development of the Nurse-Midwifery concentration at CSUF and dedicated her career to improving outcomes for women and families, especially in communities facing health disparities. The award honors a midwifery student who exemplifies the values, compassion, and leadership of Dr. B.J. Snell.
Eligibility:
This scholarship is open to students who meet the following criteria:
- Current CSUF graduate student pursuing a master's degree with a concentration in Nurse-Midwifery.
- Must have completed at least two semesters in the CSUF nursing program but not be in their final semester.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.
- Commitment to working with women in communities affected by high-risk birth outcomes.

Dr. Margaret Elliot Scholarship on Teaching in Physical Education
Amount: $1,000-$2,500
Established by: This scholarship was established in 2022 by the friends and family of Dr. Margaret Elliot. Dr. Elliot was an Associate Professor of Kinesiology and Health Promotion from 1976 to 1992.
Margaret exhibited a genuine passion for teaching but more importantly, she helped teachers gain confidence with their own teaching. She provided an inspiration that was contagious. Margaret was a dedicated lifelong learner and an exceptional role model.
Margaret co-authored a book entitled, Play with a Purpose: A Movement Program for Children, 3rd Ed. which was published in the Harper’s school and public health education, physical education, and recreation series. She was active professionally throughout her career, serving as President of the Wester Society for Physical Education of College Women (WSPECW), and a member of the California Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (CAHPERD) from which she was awarded the Exemplary Leadership Award in 1986. Margaret taught at CSUF until 1992 and was then selected to serve as the Executive Director of the California Physical Education and Health Project through the University of California, a position which she held until 2002.
